Currently, Smartblinds work via Thread and therefore, as an Apple HomeKit user, you do not need a bridge. For Android devices, however, this is the case if you want to control your Smartblinds via your smartphone. But, this is about to change! Indeed, in the future, our motors will be updated to make Smartblinds work on the Matter protocol. Matter is an outcome of an idea from Apple, Google, Amazon and other well-known brands within the smart home world and allows all smart devices to talk to each other. Regardless of whether the accessory works via Thread, WiFi or bluetooth. Once Matter is here, Android users will no longer need a bridge to control Smartblinds either!
